Our Story
Ashley Kenney was not raised by a family of farmers. Her knowledge in Permaculture techniques and sustainable agriculture has come from years of studying, research, and active participation in the world of regenerative farming. Having built a deep base of connections working within agricultural and equestrian businesses throughout the Northeast, Ashley and her husband Jason started Little Spring Farm as a small farm on their property in Litchfield County.
Perched on a hillside of only 1/2 an acre, Little Spring Farm boasts perennial beds of herbs, flowers, and edible landscaping as well as a permaculture orchard, apiary, egg-laying hens, chickens for meat, cut flower beds, as well as annual fruits and vegetables. The farm is currently home to a large flock of egg layers and three Nigerian Dwarf Goats.
Ashley began Little Spring Farm LLC in 2019 as a consulting firm to help not for profits, equestrian businesses, and agricultural ventures find their footing, restructure, and fudraise.
Ashley has worked for Grace Farms in New Canaan, Connecticut as the the Garden Manager and Sustainability Coordinator, has been the Head Consultant and Garden Manager for the Jane Goodall Permaculture Garden on the campus of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT and has organized the Winter Conference for both NOFA/MASS & CT NOFA (The Northeast Organic Farming Association). Ashley has been a professional equestrian in the Hunter/Jumper discipline for over 15 years and currently holds the title of Head Coach for the Fairfield University Equestrian Team.
